In Greece, SoftAtHome’s Eyes’ON Improves Wi-Fi Experience for Incumbent Operator’s Subscribers
PARIS, France – June 30th, 2022 – SoftAtHome, an independent software company for broadband, video, and analytics, is supporting the major Greek Telecom operator to assess and validate its subscribers’ Home-connectivity performance with a dedicated Android App delivering Wi-Fi metrics on-demand, in cooperation with its local value-added telecom partner, VECTOR Technologies.
SoftAtHome’s Eyes’ON solution, in use since early 2020, allows operator field technicians to run Wi-Fi connectivity performance tests onsite during truck rolls to consumers’ homes. The mobile application improves the verification and reporting tasks during onsite visits. The new process also creates closer customer proximity and trust along the steps completed with the issuance of an installation certificate. Results were already evident in a few months, with the Telecom operator significantly reducing technical assistance on Wi-Fi.
The solution builds on a customized mobile application that communicates with a web-based backend analytics portal hosted by the operator. It is designed to run on all commercial Android phones and tablets. Comprehensive resources beyond mere Wi-Fi throughput testing are provided thanks to flexible and configurable user-friendly performance test procedures. The subscribers’ Wi-Fi performance at home is therefore formally validated.
The Eyes’ON Wi-Fi Technician App, specifically adapted for the Greek operator, delivers a complete and instant diagnostic. These come from specific test procedures, including coverage, Wi-Fi signal strength wherever wireless consumption occurs, throughput indications, and OTT service testing. The application integrates a real-time radar feature to facilitate the full coverage of all rooms. Immediately after installation and tests, the Eyes’ON application can deliver easy-to-understand PDF reports. Such reports serve as a customer certificate of the quality of home Wi-Fi and provide evidence of the visit with the technician’s findings and observations.
