SoftAtHome Shortlisted for Three CSI Awards at IBC 2017
Colombes, France – July 27th, 2017– SoftAtHome (Hall 5 A51 at IBC 2017), a software provider of operator CPE devices enabling convergent services for the digital home, is proud to have been shortlisted three times for this year’s CSI Awards in the Best Interactive TV technology with Orange for TV Lights, in the Best Customer Premise Technology for SoftAtHome’s Personal Assistant, as well as in the Best Content Protection Technology for its Home Cyber Protector.
TV Lights, a multi-awarded solution co-presented with Orange, enables users to enjoy a breakthrough immersive experience in their living-room by associating the TV set with light-control technology. Light colors and intensity are automatically synchronized in real-time with the TV content. The added immersiveness changes the experience of watching TV.
SoftAtHome’s Personal Assistant is a new solution part of the latest SOP8 platform that powers operator devices. It leverages new voice an AI technologies so that operators can enter the booming voice control and conversational personal assistant markets. Technically, a Set-Top Box integrates voice, AI and IoT technologies and operators can present a brand-new generation of device to declutter the living room.
SoftAtHome’s Home Cyber Protector lets operators monitor the security of home devices through the Home Gateway. Recent cyberattacks caused severe network problems for as many as 900 000 customers of a major operator over a single weekend. IoT devices can be used as sources for an attack. With the Home Cyber Protector, in case of a suspected cyber attack, the vulnerable device will be detected and automatically isolated while waiting for the client to act and check if there really is an attack. End-users can be prompted to update the firmware or to change their password to protect the device and the whole network. In case a device is contaminated, it will be isolated from the network to ensure secure operations.
