At TV Connect 2014, SoftAtHome is paving the way for major industry breakthroughs: Ultra-High-Definition and “Cast” Dongles

2014 at TV Connect will celebrate the transition for the TV industry towards Ultra High Definition, with 4K content transmitted from international sporting events, including the upcoming FIFA World Cup™. SoftAtHome will demo its complete end-to-end 4K ecosystem including HEVC decoding delivering true Ultra High Definition (UHD) videos and an adapted User Interface, especially designed for 4K, powered by its partner STMicroelectronics’ next-generation chipsets.

Also under the spotlights at TV Connect, one of SoftAtHome’s latest deployments illustrates an innovative way to manage content powered by the Cloud and redistribute on any screen.

With Accedo, an open-standards application store has been developed to enable operators to monetize home content through applications and their subscribers to customize their home environment, with News, Gaming, or Social networking apps.

And last but not least, SoftAtHome is proud to embrace a real breakthrough of the industry with its “Cast” Dongle: a revolutionary small factor form and cost-optimized device that can deliver OTT and premium content by using “Cast” technologies.
