Broadpeak and SoftAtHome Transform Home Media Gateways Into Active Components for Seamless OTT Delivery
SoftAtHome SOP Platform pre-integrated with Broadpeak nanoCDN technology eases live and VOD OTT distribution to millions of simultaneous viewers
Amsterdam – October 22, 2013 – Broadpeak, a leading provider of content delivery networks (CDN) technologies and high-performance video streaming servers for cable, IPTV, OTT, and hybrid TV operators worldwide, and SoftAtHome, provider of home operating platforms for convergent services in the Digital Home, announced today strengthened collaboration around OTT service delivery. This extends the partnership announced at Broadband World Forum 2012 to integrate Broadpeak’s bandwidth efficient nanoCDN technology with SoftAtHome’s ubiquitous SOP home operating platform.
At Broadband World Forum this year in Amsterdam (22 – 24 of October 2013), Broadpeak unveiled a key new addition to its nanoCDN framework. Combined with SoftAtHome’s latest SOP6 software, nanoCDN reduces peak loading on the broadband access network for both live and VOD Over-The-Top (OTT) consumption, by transforming gateways or set-top boxes into active components of the content delivery network.
